Kafue National Park has suffered devastating wildfires in the past which has contributed to the loss of wildlife, an important part of tourism for the park. With previously no aerial burns conducted in Zambia, Raindance and Maki Planet Systems partnered to install and train Kafue National Park Ranger in savanna aerial burning using Raindance technologies.

Raindance supplied an R3 machine to Kafue National Park in Zambia, which is part of African Parks. Aerial Incendiary operational training was carried out on numerous burns with the support of Maki Planet Systems. Raindance is excited to partner with African Park for their programs involving a reduction in wildfire, rewilding of animals, and ongoing rehabilitation.

Raindance also carried out aerial incendiary training and burns in Botswana for the Department of Forestry in Chobe National Park. This was also done in collaboration with Maki Planet Systems.

These were the first-ever aerial incendiary burns carried out in Zambia and Botswana.

OUR PRODUCTS

Aerial Incendiary Systems designed for the harshest environments in the world.

Incendiary Devices

For over 20 years Raindance Systems have been developing Aerial Incendiary Devices. Our current systems are the R3 and R4 Incendiary Devices and they offer many improvements over previous systems, making them the most advanced systems available in the world for use in preventative fire and ecological management, as well as backburning. All our systems are used in a wide range of diverse environments to suit most requirements and operations.

Capsules

Our Incendiary Capsule system is unique in many ways. We make all our Incendiary Capsules in-house, ensuring quality control throughout the manufacturing process. Each box of Incendiary Capsules contains 1000 incendiaries joined together into a Capsule Belt. This results in a compact box (300mm x 300mm x 150mm or 12” x 12” x 6” for R3 Incendairy Boxes), weighing only 2.2kg (4.8lb).
